Is Love Island coming back in 2023? Love Island 2023 start date

Love Island 2023 started on Monday, June 5 at 9 pm on ITV2 and ITVX, and new episodes will continue to air on a nightly basis (except Saturdays) at roughly the same time in both places.

Love Island 2023 recap: what happened in the villa last night?

In Thursday's episode, Mitchel approached Kady about the stumbling block that she and Zachariah had hit. The following morning, Zach pulled Mitch to chat clear the air.

Then, Sammy and Whitney were both given the chance to take an islander of their choice out of the villa for a date. Sammy opted to bring Jess, and Whitney decided to follow up with Zachariah for some more one-on-one time.

It looked like both dates went well; Zach and Whitney had plenty to say to one another, and Sammy and Jess are clearly open to rekindling things between them as their date ended in a kiss.

There was more trouble from Kady and Zach when everyone reunited in the villa that evening, though. She wanted to know exactly where he stood and where his head was at.

The first recoupling led to George Fensom being dumped from the villa on Friday, June 9.

Then, when the islanders were told to choose between Ella and Ruchee after they were both left single in Tuesday's recoupling. They opted to keep Ella in the villa, meaning Ruchee Gurung was dumped on June 14.

Friday, June 16 saw two more departures. Following a public vote for favorite islanders that left six of them vulnerable, the islanders opted to send Andre Furtado and Charlotte Sumner home.

Friday, June 23 saw Molly Marsh exit the villa in a shock twist after Kady coupled up with Zachariah.

Love Island series 10 is the second of a double helping of drama from the villa. Whilst series 8 was airing in 2022, ITV confirmed that there would be two seasons of Love Island airing in 2023 as they revealed plans to revive the Winter spin-off.

It looks like two seasons of Love Island might be the norm, as well, as there have been reports that ITV is set to commission another Winter edition for 2024. A source told The Sun: "Love Island have already informed the owners of the £1.2 million villa in South Africa that they want to return there at the end of this year ahead of the winter 2024 show."
